Organic canihua is a close relative to quinoa, often referred to as “baby quinoa”. This gluten free superfood has a high protein content and, like quinoa, a high proportion of essential amino acids, minerals such as calcium, phosphorus and iron. Unlike quinoa, canihua is free of saponins so it does not need to be rinsed before cooking. With it’s nutty flavor, that is slightly milder and sweeter than quinoa and a crunchier texture, canihua pairs wonderfully with both savory and sweet dishes.
